DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the City of Rockingham\nFreestyle Now will be conducting FREE coaching sessions at the Port Kennedy skate park.\n\n\nAll thanks to the City of Rockingham. The workshop sessions would be open to any participant over the age of 6. Limited spare skateboards and scooters are available\, bring your own helmet. \nSession 1:  3pm \nSession 2: 4pm \nFreestyle Now squad members will be present to offer participants technical advice\, trick tips\, skill development and skatepark etiquette. \nOur facilitators analyse the participants’ skill level and work from that base and assist with confidence building. Skills can be taught but confidence cannot. It is important to not only just focus on skill building but confidence as well. By using their own skill base as a stepping stone we are able to help them advance. Our instructors speak the participants’ language and speak on their level. Our instructors relay this safety message to our participants and reiterate the importance of helmets and how they can minimise injuries. \nAll participants will need their own equipment and are required to wear a helmet and closed-in shoes. Participants with defective skateboards may not be able to participate. Our facilitators may not be able to make repairs to participants’ skateboards during the coaching session. \nParticipants under the age of 6 will be taken on their ability to understand and follow instructions and to control their apparatus. \nKey points: \n• Participants must be wearing a helmet \n• Please remember to bring some water and wear sunscreen \n• Participants must be over the age of 6 \n• Parents must stay on site if their child is under 12 \nFreestyle Now coaching workshops are fun\, informative and motivational. \nThe squad members let the participants ride at their own level and encourage progression. \nAll our instructors are very easy going and relate to the participants well. Whether you’re looking to play games\, socialise\, explore your creative interests or simply unwind\, The Underground offers opportunities to have fun\, build confidence and make new connections. \nYoung people can enjoy a variety of entertainment options\, including pool tables\, table tennis\, foosball\, PlayStation 5\, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The centre is also home to a professional digital recording studio\, providing aspiring musicians and creatives with access to quality equipment and opportunities to develop their skills. Passionate musicians can also perform on our fully equipped stage at Late Night Live\, a once-a-term live music night. \nThere are two Drop-In sessions tailored to different age groups: \n\n10-14 years (Tuesday) Drop-In: provides a fun and welcoming space for younger secondary school-aged young people to make friends\, enjoy activities\, build confidence and try new experiences.\n15-25 years (Friday) Drop-In: offers young people in this age group a relaxed environment to socialise\, unwind\, explore their interests and connect with others in a supportive setting.\n\nQualified Youth Workers are present at every session to provide support\, guidance and a friendly chat whenever needed. Light refreshments are provided and\, unless otherwise stated\, all activities are free to attend.
