Watch Me Grow with Strength Heroes (Ages 6-12)

July 8 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

Does your child need reminding of how we all grow and learn in different ways and speeds? This workshop explores how everyone is smart in their own way: how we all have different strengths and talents. We use the metaphor of how a tree grows to teach children about how to think with a growth mindset, friendship skills including getting on with others, accepting differences and other people’s points of view.
The workshop will help those children develop emotional regulation and is especially helpful for those children who display perfectionist behaviours. It will also children gain acceptance of who they are. In this class children will explore natural materials to make a sculptured tree and complete mindful drawing activities and watercolour painting.
This workshop is hosted by The Art Space Collective – Scarborough’s first innovative and inspired community arts hub! The Art Space Collective run workshops for adults and kids and provide a space for people to creatively connect, showcase and inspire. For all enquiries please email workshops@theartspacecollective.com
The Art Space Collective stands on Whadjuk Nyoongar Boodja, the traditional land of the Whadjuk Nyoongar people. We acknowledge the Whadjuk people as the traditional custodians of these lands and waterways and we extend our respect to the Elders – past, present and emerging.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to the Whadjuk community, in particular Neville and Connie Collard, for walking alongside us and for helping to teach us by sharing their knowledge, their stories and their songlines. This generosity and wisdom enables us to navigate Country respectfully
