Pool Cover and Plastics Drop-off Day

The Town of Cambridge is trialling an Extended Plastics Drop Off Day at the Admin Centre to collect a range of plastics. These items will be locally processed and used in the Australian manufacturing industry.
You are invited to bring your clean plastics, and asked to separate lids, bungs, rubber seals, rings of bottles. These will be received, but are often of a different plastic type so must be collected separately.
Accepted items list: Plastics numbered #1, #2, #5 some #3
- Pre-booked pool covers
- Soft drink bottles (without lids)
- Mineral water bottles (without lids)
- Cooking oil bottles (rinsed)
- Milk bottles and lids
- Kids car seats – remove fabric, padding and metal
- Plastic garden furniture – remove metal
- Clam shells
- Storage tubs
- Plant pots and seedling trays
- 20L drums and blue drums (these need to be rinsed unless it is washing liquid, subject to rejection on the day)
- Buckets
- Orange Juice bottles that have #2 in them,
- IBC bladders,
- Polypipe (no reticulation pipe),
- Shampoo bottles and other bottles that have the #2 mark in them or look like the milk bottles
- Truck mudguards
- Breathalyser tubes
- Corflute
- #3 PVC pipe and solid pipe with no foam in between
Not accepted:
- Soft plastics
- Plastics numbered 4, 6, 7
