Paper with Ingrid Mulder (Bullsbrook)

August 20 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Join local Bullsbrook artist Ingrid Mulder to learn papermaking and recycling techniques!

Please note that this program is suitable for ages 14+, and is a hands-on workshop. Photographs and videos may be taken of the event.

Transform recycled paper and construction waste into brand new rag paper in this workshop with local artist Ingrid Mulder. You’ll learn how to use moulds and deckles as well as methods for beating, pressing, drying and adding decorative effects. All materials provided, but participants may bring string, ribbon, pressed dried botanicals or flat materials that you would like to include in the papermaking process.

In Foraging In The Waste Stream, five contemporary artists critique the insatiable appetite of consumerism by searching for ways to reduce, recycle, reuse and reclaim materials through their artworks. They ask, through foraging and fossicking, how can art shift our perception of what is trash and what is treasure?

This community program is held as a part of a series of five artist residences at the Ethel Warren Bullsbrook Community Centre and will conclude with an exhibition at Ellenbrook Arts HQ (34 Main St Ellenbrook), from 11 November-8 December 2022. Foraging the Waste Stream is curated by local contemporary artist Tami Esancy and made possible with support from City of Swan, Ellenbrook Arts and DLGSCI.

In accordance with hygiene requirements, social distancing will be maintained throughout this program and hand sanitizing stations and cleaning products will be available for use.

Please book in as spaces are limited. For all inquiries contact Bullsbrook Community Library on (08) 9207 8989.
