Join the City of Cockburn’s Sustainability and Climate Change team for a day of nature! Sign up for a FREE guided walk, hands-on activity, or just pop down and have a chat with the team.

Registrations for South Lake Nature Discovery Day open in June 2024.

  • Connecting South Lake: Hosting a FREE sausage sizzle with fruit and fun park games.
  • Gingernut Coffee: On-site for your morning caffeine fix.
  • Amenities: Toilet facilities available.
  • Self-Guided Trail: Take a stroll along the pop-up walk trail through the reserve.

9.30-11 am Nature Storytime Trek  Explore the wonders of nature through stories, bushwalking tips, and sensory exploration. It’s a fun-filled experience that combines the magic of storytelling with the beauty of the great outdoors. 2-5 years Register for Nature Storytime Trek
10.30 am-11.30 am Boodjar Biddi (Bush Track) guided cultural walk Learn about Nyungar perspectives on nature, wildlife, and the relationship between humans and the environment. All ages Register for Boodjar Biddi
11 am-1.30 pm Drop in eco art Using recycled and natural materials, children can create unique art pieces while learning about sustainability.                      All ages No registration needed—just drop in and let your creativity soar!
11.30 am-12.30 pm Community planting activity The rainy month of July provides the ideal conditions for planting new seedlings. Join our enjoyable planting session, where you can contribute to enhancing habitat and biodiversity within your local patch. All ages Register for planting activity
