Mini Master Kitchen & Zoo Excursion | School Holiday Program | Karrinyup

Free 2 day program focused on exploring strengths & resilience using food and cooking skills as well as an excursion to the Zoo!

Free 2 day school holiday program for young people in school year 3 & 4, who has a family member or a friend living with a mental health challenge. The program focuses on exploring strengths & resilience using food and cooking skills as well as an excursion to Perth Zoo!

When

Thursday 4th April and Friday 5th April, 2024 | 9:30 am – 3:30 pm

Who

Children aged in Years 3 and 4 who has a family member or a friend living with a mental health challenge.

Where

Stirling Community Centres, Karrinyup on Davenport Street

Bring

Hat, sun cream, water bottle, enclosed shoes, HelpingMinds will provide aprons

Refreshments

Lunch and snacks will be provided

Excursion Itinerary
Day 1: Parents/caregivers to drop kids off at Sorrento Community Hall at 9:30am and picked up at 3:30pm from Stirling Community Centres.

Day 2: Parents/caregivers to drop kids off at Stirling Community Centres for a 9:30am departure tp Perth Zoo and picked up at 3:30pm from Stirling Community Centres.

Please note that this booking is an ‘Expression of Interest’ and not confirmation of attendance.

A member of our team will contact you to complete the HelpingMinds registration and eligibility process. Please add Parent/Guardian details in the CONTACT INFORMATION section and young person’s details in the TICKET – EXPRESSION OF INTEREST section. If booking multiple tickets, please fill in one young person’s details per ticket.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

· If your child has not received support from HelpingMinds before (or within the last 6 months) a phone interview will need to take place with the parent/guardian

· A consent form will need to be signed by both parents.

· If children require medication throughout the day, they will be required to self-administer this.

· External support workers are not allowed at the workshop.

· Children require adequate independent coping skills to be able to deal with group situations.

· Your child must either have a family member or a friend living with mental health challenge or is at risk of developing mental health challenge themselves.

· All our workshops have a maximum capacity to ensure our counsellors can provide adequate professional support for all children attending.

· To give everyone in the community a fair chance, each child can enrol in a maximum of two workshops.
