Baby massage is a gentle way for parents and their infants to connect and to gain from all the benefits if has to offer.

About Jane

I am an Infant Massage Instructor and a Nurse with a background in Midwifery and Child Health and have worked with families over many years in varied settings. I believe that by nurturing and supporting parents and encouraging then to trust their own intuitive ability to parent they are then better able to nurture and support their infants.

The course runs an hour a week for four weeks. Each week builds on the content from the previous week and by the end of the course you will feel confident with the various techniques.

Week 1

• oils for massage
• contraindications to massage
• where, when and when not, to massage
• permission sequence
• strokes for legs, feet, buttock

Week 2 

• benefits of massage
• wind, colic and constipation
• stroke review
• strokes chest, arms and hands
• sequence for colic, wind and constipation

Week 3 

• settling techniques and holds
• stroke review
• strokes for face, head
• baby massage and mindfulness breathing and relaxation

Week 4 

• stroke review
• strokes for back
• tummy time and massage
• massage for the growing child sensory and play activities

Included in the session;

• – Course content
• – Sessions run for one hour and allows time at the end for questions 
• – Laminated handout of the massage strokes for each parent
• – Small bottle of oil for each parent
• – Follow up email – to provide extra content eg music playlists, relaxation recordings, videos
• – Access to my Intuitive Baby Massage Private Facebook page for ongoing support and advice

The sessions are aimed for babies 6 weeks to pre crawlers.
