Expressive Therapies Session | School Holiday Program | Midland

April 3 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

This session will involve a one-hour art therapy session exploring emotion through different art mediums, followed by a movie and pizza.

This 1-day program is for young people aged12-15 who have a family member or a friend living with a mental health challenge or are at risk of developing a mental health challenge themselves.

This session will involve a one-hour art therapy session exploring emotion through different art mediums, followed by a movie and pizza.

Outcomes of this session include:
1. Fostering positive relationships and meeting new people.
2. Discussing mental health challenges and exploring positive coping strategies.
3. Learning the benefits of Art Therapy.

This program is funded by the Mental Health Commission and is provided at no cost to participants. This program is offered to young people living with or caring for a loved one with a mental health condition.

School Holiday Program important info

  • If your child has not received support from HelpingMinds before (or within the last 6 months) a phone interview will need to take place with the parent/guardian
  • A consent form will need to be signed by both parents.
  • If children require medication throughout the day, they will be required to self-administer this.
  • External support workers are not allowed at the workshop.
  • Children require adequate independent coping skills to be able to deal with group situations.
  • All our workshops have a maximum capacity to ensure our counsellors can provide adequate professional support for all children attending.
  • To give everyone in the community a fair chance, each child can enrol in a maximum of two workshops.

This program is funded by the Mental Health Commission to provide support to young people caring for someone or with a loved one with a mental health concern. This program is provided at no cost to participants.
