Meningitis remains one of the most dangerous childhood infections since polio, and it is still claiming and disabling the lives of many people across Australia, mainly children in early life, young adults, and the over 65s. 1 in 10 people will die who contract this disease and 25% will end up with a permanent disability. With cases very much on the rise, it is more important than ever to know how to protect yourself from this disease!
In this easy to understand 30-minute presentation, you will learn what meningitis is, what it can do, how to recognise the signs and symptoms, and how to protect yourself and your loved ones against it. Also, what urgent actions you need to take if you think someone you care about may have it – it may save their life!
