Kate’s Place Perth

Join us for child-led, teacher-supported play sessions for children with developmental delays. Focusing on speech, language, social and play skills, our 2-hour sessions welcome 2–4-year-olds to participate in small group and individual play-based activities in a no-pressure, neuro-affirming environment with their parent.

By providing support and guidance, both 1:1 and with parent education sessions, Kate’s Place Perth can help reduce any anxiety you may have around your child’s delay.  By helping you to feel more confident and able to meet their specific needs you can form a stronger relationship with your child.  Meeting other parents who understand delays and the challenges that can come hand in hand can also be very rewarding.

Our language-rich sensory, motor, pretend play, cause/effect and music-style indoor and outdoor activities have proven popular with children, who often don’t want to leave!  And our current families are loving coming to a welcoming, non-judgemental space with other parents who ‘get’ delays in a way that other friends, whilst well-meaning, don’t necessarily understand.  It’s so important to look after yourself as a parent and finding your ‘tribe’ is a crucial part of that journey!  

Kate, our founder and lead teacher, has an autistic son and is passionate about empowering other parents and supporting them on their journey.  She also strongly believes that children need to feel safe, supported and understood so she spends ample 1:1 time with each family during each session to build that important relationship.

There is ample research and evidence that shows the positive impact of early intervention, so the key is, as the name suggests, to get in early!

Classes run from 10-12 during school terms on Mondays or Thursdays in North Perth.
