Hang out at the many beautiful beaches and playgrounds in the area. Geraldton has some great family areas for play.
For example, head to Geraldton Foreshore Youth Precinct Playground. This is a great playground suited to kids aged four and over. The main attraction is the Sky Walk, a huge roped bridge structure with connecting turrets and a long red slide that’s six metres at it’s highest point. Its a perfect spot for kids who love to climb!
Similarly, Geraldton Foreshore and Water Play Area is another great family spot! The play equipment is separated into three different areas. This includes swinging and climbing equipment aimed at bigger kids. A smaller kids area has a slide, some swings, and other climbing equipment. In addition, there’s heaps of equipment low to the ground for toddlers. All play areas are covered by shade sails. Kids will love the free water splash pad. Make sure you pack a towel and spare clothes!
Likewise, there is a great nature play park at Bill Hemsley Community Playground. This playground is made up of many natural materials such as wood and stone. Kids will enjoy balancing logs, climbing ropes, slides, swings and more!

After a long 2 year wait with the foreshore being closed the new park was officially opened in October 2019. Situated at the northern end of Geraldton, just up from the Geraldton Museum, Beresford Foreshore Park is a great place to stop in on your next road trip. Located approx. 433km North of Perth is Geraldton. A place i spent a lot of time during School Holidays visiting family. I hadn’t been back in over 3 years so I decided to pack up my Hubby and the Kids and show them where I used to stay as a kid and what we used to get up to.
