Embargo on the Point has now opened and is a venue that all ages can enjoy! Located right on the water it has the most incredible views over the Swan River, especially at sunset.
Embargo is a huge venue which is divided into four areas: The Front Bar, The Slipway, The Embargo Deck and The Cabin.
The Front Bar is the largest area and the main bar at Embargo. It is enclosed but has floor to ceiling windows to make full use of that fantastic almost 360 views of the river. From here there’s also access to the newly licensed jetty.
The Slipway is a decked area between bars. It’s the perfect spot to relax with a drink whilst enjoying the views.
The Embargo Deck has the traditional Embargo beer garden feel with artificial lawn, pellet tables and bar.
The Cabin is the kid’s play area and the area we spent almost all of our time on our visit. It’s a large indoor area with arcade games, giant connect 4, giant magnetic scrabble, blackboard, giant Jenga, ball pit and more! The kids loved it! There was space to run around and plenty of activities to keep them entertained for hours. For some reason there weren’t any balls in the ball pit while we were there – this didn’t bother any of the kids though as someone placed a few bean bags inside the pit and everyone had a great time jumping in.
We were there on a Sunday and there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere with live music and lots of families enjoying the summer evening.
There are a few different options for food when at Embargo. There’s the Embargo kitchen, run by Fish Boss, where you can purchase everything from fish and chips to beef nachos to poke bowls. Variety burgers, Big Dons Smoke Meats and The Pizza Lounge are also food vendors within Embargo.
I noticed high chairs in each bar area and there’s a baby change table in the toilets in the main bar.
Dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas of Embargo as long as they are on lead.
There’s heaps of parking however it is unfortunately paid parking.
