Get exited little brick builders – Brickman Cities has popped up at the Wanneroo Regional Gallery! Found next to Wanneroo Library, this WA exclusive is on NOW, until February 18, 2024.
Ryan McNaught aka ‘Brickman’ from the LegoMasters TV show, is a Lego legend and the only Lego certified professional in the southern hemisphere. He’s created this interactive exhibition that transports you all around the world and straight into the heart of a few the world’s most iconic cities – Sydney and Tokyo being just a couple.
Kids and adults alike will enjoy this time-traveling adventure, spanning from medieval towns to the present day’s towering skyscrapers. The level of detail on these models is brilliant, and the evolution of these global metropolises has been well captured – lego style. It’s also fascinating to see how many hours each build took!
There’s many interactive elements to this exhibition.
You can build your own creation from hundreds of thousands of lego bricks of every colour and shape in the interactive build zone.
Be sure to proudly display them with everyone else’s creations.
Grab a “treasure hunt” and go looking for all the different mini figs etc around the exhibits – we found all but one!
There’s a duplo build area too, for little kids.
Be sure to check out the wall that’s dedicated to the history of Lego City Fire Stations. See the models evolve through the years, from simple (and cheap!) sets in the 1970s, to elaborate, detailed Lego sets of the present day.
If all that building makes you feel inspired – be sure to treat the family to a new lego set in the shop on the way out too.
Ryan McNaught’s book is also available.
Be sure to check out this fun-tastic exhibition and let your imagination run wild. We all loved it – adults and kiddos! It’s definitely a couple of hours well spent.
Be sure to check out the Wanneroo Library, or pop downstairs for a brunch or coffee at the excellent Elixir Cafe too.
Find Brickman Cities at Wanneroo Regional Gallery at 3 Rocca Way, Wanneroo.
