Adzera Cafe, Scarborough

The new cafe on the block for Scarborough is Adzera Cafe. This is a New Guinea themed cafe with a great play corner for the kids. You can even do you laundry while you’re at it!

Located where Cheeky Cafe was, Adzera Cafe’s owners have revamped the cafe and given it a Papua New Guinea flavour. Woven crafts hang from the walls and a shelf of knick-knacks shows off a little bit of New Guinea in Perth.

On walking in however, the only thing Miss 4 was interested in was the play corner! This consists of shelves of toys and books, a play kitchen and a chalk board. This kept her and the other visiting children entertained for the duration.

A playgroup runs twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. A great way to socialise your child and meet other families in your area.

The food here was a simple but good selection, great for a meal or snack on the go. Just inside the door, there is a cabinet full of fresh food. Items such as muffins, quiche, pastries, rolls and sandwiches. In addition to savouries, there are cakes, cookies and banana bread and more!

Likewise, there are fridges full of cold drinks at the front door, as well as a menu of coffees, teas, milkshakes and more available.

For our visit, Miss 4 selected a chocolate fudge muffin from the cabinet, while I chose a bacon and egg toastie and a latte. All up, this cost $16. The muffin arrived warm and sticky, and quickly filled Miss 4 up. We ended up taking half of it home! My toastie was tasty and the coffee excellent. A mild, smooth blend.

The morning special is a coffee and a toastie for $10, which isn’t bad value. The toastie was cooked fresh to order, too. It certainly was filling and kept me going until dinner.

The laundromat is located at the rear of the cafe and also houses toilet facilities. Handy if you’re planning a coffee date and toilet training your little one.  Plenty of high chairs are available at the front of the cafe for littler diners.

The atmosphere at Adzera is relaxed and the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. Soft jazz music was playing in the background, and the large windows at the front of the cafe provide lots of natural light.
